Wear It Purple® Day Training Webinar: Intro to Supporting LGBTQIA+ Youth | Minus18

August 26 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

$39 – $750

Join the Minus18 Education Team for a live-streamed professional development webinar in the lead-up to Wear It Purple® Day!

On the last Friday of August, we celebrate Wear it Purple® Day a day dedicated to celebrating LGBTQIA+ youth, and proudly standing with queer young people in the face of discrimination.

As Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth, Minus18 have devised a virtual training event to equip the whole community with the knowledge needed to support LGBTQIA+ young people and champion inclusion. Whether you’re levelling up your LGBTQIA+ allyship as a teacher, youth worker, service provider, workplace or even parent or family member, this in-depth training will equip you with the LGBTQIA+ knowledge you need.

What will be covered:

  • An overview refresher on the differences between sex, gender and sexuality.
  • Evidence based barriers LGBTQIA+ young people face.
  • Pronouns – what are they and why are they important?
  • How to apply inclusive language and create an inclusive culture.
  • Practical tools and tips to support LGBTQIA+ young people.
