Southern Melbourne Forum: Adolescent Violence In The Home

We warmly invite SMA frontline practitioners, team leaders and managers working with adolescents in home, schools, community and justice settings to our Southern Melbourne Forum.
The forum is being held in partnership between the SMCFA & SMFVRIC and will feature:
- A practice session “Working with families to navigate complexity” – led by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare
- Panel discussions from sector representatives across Legal Services, Victoria Police, Child Protection and Youth Justice
- Reflections and learnings from the Southern Melbourne “Walking Together” practitioners
- Considerations for culturally safe practices when working with adolescents from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and multicultural communities
The voice of lived experience will be embedded throughout the day from a panel discussion with young people, to a conversation with a parent peer worker, and a young person advocate facilitating the day.
