Early Years Morning Session: Refugee Health

The Southern Melbourne Child and Family Alliance (SMCFA), in collaboration with the Child and Family Working Group (0-10) are facilitating an Early Years Morning Series session on Wednesday 19th July, between 9:15am-9:45am, online via Microsoft  Teams.

The Morning Series are short and sharp online training sessions (usually occurring every second Wednesday of the month, between 9:15am – 9:45am until the end of 2024), to provide practitioners with practical knowledge in the Early Years space (client cohort aged 0-5). Various guest speakers will attend to present for 20 minutes, with 10 minutes at the end for questions.

SESSION TOPIC: Refugee Health, delivered by guest speaker Chiedza Malunga from Monash Health – specifically, the refugee experience and its impact on families, settlement, referral pathways for support, and entitlements that refugees and asylum seekers have in terms of service access.

TARGET AUDIENCE: These sessions were originally aimed at SMCFA Integrate Family Services and Family Preservation and Reunification Response practitioners, but is also open to any Child and Family Working Group members and their teams.
