Training: YPVITH – Neurodiverse-Affirming Practice with Young People and Their Families | Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare

June 30 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

$260

The Centre, in collaboration with Dr Amanda Mullin (Doctor of Clinical Psychology and Director, Mindworx Psychology) is offering a three-hour interactive training designed to equip professionals with the skills and strategies needed to work effectively in these complex situations.

Supporting neurodivergent young people using violence in the home (YPVITH) requires a specialised, therapeutic approach—one recognising their unique needs while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of their families.

Participants will explore:

  • A neurodiverse-affirming approach – learn how to apply a therapeutic framework that acknowledges neurodivergent perspectives and strengths.
  • Improved engagement strategies – discover practical ways to connect with young people who may struggle with traditional interventions.
  • Better outcomes for families – explore techniques to support the young person, parents, carers, and family members while maintaining a young person-focused approach.
