Family-led decision making is at the heart of strong outcomes for children and families. Family Group Conferencing (FGC) provides a structured way for families to lead planning and decision-making for their children’s safety and wellbeing.

Join us as Uniting Vic.Tas share insights from over a decade of delivering the FGC program in Victoria. This session will explore how the evidence-based model has been adapted, embedded and scaled across regions, including what’s worked, what’s been learnt, and what continues to evolve.

Drawing on external evidence, emerging local data and facilitator reflections, this presentation will highlight what supports success in complex family contexts – from engagement and referral pathways to cultural safety and practitioner confidence.

The forum will also open conversation about opportunities for collaboration across the sector, including shared training, facilitation, and learning to strengthen family voice and decision-making in Victoria.
