Musical opportunities: supporting children with trauma | Australian Childhood Foundation
This workshop explores how music and musical experiences can support children aged 0-5, particularly those affected by trauma. Participants will learn how music supports brain development, helps children express emotion, and promotes regulation and connection. This workshop is not a music therapy qualification.
This training sessions explores:
- The science and research which suggests music experiences are essential to support early childhood development, including brain development
- How music experiences can be a non-threatening medium for expressing emotions and support healing from trauma
- How music can stimulate the brain’s reward pathways, providing a sense of pleasure and relief from traumatic stress
