Morning Series: IFAS- Independent Family & Advocacy Support

The Southern Melbourne Child and Family Alliance (SMCFA), in collaboration with the Southern Melbourne Family Violence Regional Integration Committee (SMFVRIC) have formed a joint Child and Family Working Group, with a priority on children in the 0-10 years space.

One of our goals is to provide free, relevant and practical professional development opportunities for our workforce, using the knowledge and resources within our network.

We are facilitating the Morning Series sessions which will be delivered online, via Microsoft Teams.

Our guest speakers will provide a presentation and there will be an opportunity for questions at the end.

THIS SESSIONS INFORMATION:  

SPEAKER:  Yasmin Knight and Neil Boyack, IFAS – Independent Family Advocacy and Support Program from Victorian Legal Aid

• TOPIC:  A non-legal advocacy and support program for parents and carers early on in their involvement with child protection; helping them navigate the child protection system, understand their rights and responsibilities, identify goals for their children’s care, and divert away from court proceedings where possible.

TARGET AUDIENCE: These information sessions are aimed at practitioners.
