Media Making Change: Training for digital creators on preventing violence against women | Our Watch

June 19 @ 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm

All forms of media – including new forms of media – are powerful drivers of social change and can positively influence the culture, behaviours and attitudes that drive violence against women and their children. Whether you’re sharing personal stories, interviewing guests, or making content that reaches wide and diverse audiences, your words and images matter – and so does how you use them.

This free online session provides an accessible introduction to the drivers of violence against women and explores how content creators can safely, respectfully, and effectively contribute to preventing this crisis. You’ll gain practical tips on:

  • understanding your role in changing the conversation
  • using evidence-based language and framing on topics relating to gender and gender equality as it relates to violence against women
  • promoting help-seeking pathways for your audience
  • ensuring culturally safe storytelling.

Media Making Change is presented by a trained facilitator from Our Watch, a national organisation dedicated to preventing violence against women and their children. Join us to strengthen your content and be part of the change.
