Women experiencing family violence often have multiple pressing legal issues that must be dealt with in different courts and under different legislation. You may be the first point of contact for women experiencing family violence. Being able to identify their legal issues and provide legal information, will support your client to navigate the legal system and get the legal assistance they need, early. Training occurs over 2 half days.
You will learn:
- How to identify critical legal issues relating to family violence, including family violence civil and criminal matters.
- Legal essentials in family violence, family law and child protection law.
- How to provide appropriate legal information to clients.
- How legal referral processes works, working with lawyers and supporting your client through the legal system.
