Foundations of Psychosis | The Centre
Session four in the Mental Health training series, Foundations of Psychosis provides practitioners with a foundational understanding of psychosis as a broad category of mental health conditions characterised by a loss of contact with reality. The workshop introduces the key features, causes, and impacts of psychosis, explores cultural and trauma-related considerations (including psychosis-like symptoms in complex PTSD), and emphasises practical, compassionate, and person-centred approaches to supporting individuals and families. It also outlines evidence -based treatment options and the importance of early intervention.
This training is designed for practitioners working in community services, youth and family services, psychosocial support, homelessness services, residential care, and broader mental health and social support sectors.
