eLearn Launch: Unlearning Ableism: from Bias to Best Practice | Safe and Equal and Women with Disabilities Victoria:

March 26 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) and Safe and Equal have partnered to produce a suite of eLearn Modules to enhance practice capability of practitioners supporting victim survivors with disabilities. This event is centred around the launch of the first module: ‘Unlearning Ableism: from Bias to Best Practice’.

The ‘Unlearning Ableism: from Bias to Best Practice’ eLearn aims to build practitioner’s understanding of the concepts of unconscious bias and ableism, and how ableist attitudes impact people with disabilities, specifically victim survivors of family violence.

This event will introduce practitioners to this first foundational eLearn, providing context and promotion of the ongoing project and an opportunity to hear from the family violence and disability experts who contributed to the eLearn. The event aims to strengthen practitioner’s capacity to recognise and challenge bias and ableism and promote a safe, inclusive and equitable service system response to victim survivors with disabilities.
