Secada is running a new group program for clients who wish to address their substance using the SMART recovery framework located in Dandenong.

Sessions focus on the present and setting goals for the future. This is a primarily peer-led group in which the facilitators support clients to:

  • Build cognitive and coping skills, and a sense of community
  • Problem solve and action plan — each client works toward an individualised seven-day plan
  • Actively practise coping strategies
  • Grow self-esteem
  • Expand social interactions and reduce social isolation

Clients will be required to obtain an intake and assessment through the Secada intake line.

Client will have access to Care and Recovery services after groups if they wish. This could look like, one-on-one harm minimisation, assistance navigating other local services, or referrals to other AOD programs, such as Detox and Rehabilitation
