We support families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday (with the exception of FPRR who work with children until their 6th birthday).

Our team is made up of passionate professionals from a range of fields, including Registered/Enrolled Nurses, Early Parenting, Allied Health, Social Workers, Maternal and Child Health Nurses, Mental Health Clinicians, Midwives, Psychologists, Art Therapists and General Practitioners.

All of these practitioners are trained in the importance of play and the benefits it brings to parent-child bonds.

Residential:
The Residential program offers an intensive style of support for children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday. Our residential programs offer up to a 4-night stay and are designed to give support across all areas of parenting, from sleep and settling, feeding difficulties, understanding behaviour challenges and parent-to-child bonding.

Telehealth:
Families using our telehealth services have 24-hour support via an online health direct video portal, or over the phone if preferred. They are also given access to education sessions through a daily Zoom call.

DayStay:
The DayStay Program helps families with children aged from newborn to 12 months of age to build confidence in settling their infant using responsive settling techniques.

PlaySteps:
QEC’s evidence and outcome informed, play-based facilitated play group. Delivered over 8 weeks for families with children from newborn until their 2nd birthday. Strengthens parent-child interactions, improves attachment, and builds child resilience.

Community Programs
EPC Parenting Plus:
This program services our Southern catchment. EPC Parenting Plus is a flexible, community-based program that supports families in their own homes with early parenting education. This includes assistance with sleep and settling strategies, feeding, play, age-appropriate patterns and routines.
Individual Child and Family Support 40 hours
This program is an intensive, specialised program to support families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday, who are experiencing parenting difficulties where one or more risk factors are present.

Individual Child and Family Support 110 Hours:
This is an intensive service for families experiencing vulnerabilities with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday. The program provides specialised early parenting education, coaching, and support with particular attention to enhancing the parent/child attachment and relationship and promoting child safety, whilst meeting physical and developmental milestones.

Specialised Interventions – Stronger Families:
Specialised Interventions – Stronger Families is an intensive home visiting program for families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday.

Families referred to this program are enrolled in a family preservation and unification response program with QEC or a partner agency.

The Family Preservation and Reunification Response (FPRR):
The program services families with children aged from newborn until their 6th birthday, who have been referred for parenting support by Child Protection.

Support is offered in the home or a community setting, promoting strong families with children who are safe, healthy, and thriving.

PASDS:
Our PASDS programs support families with children aged from newborn until their 4th birthday, who have contact with Child Protective Services.
We offer two delivery modes: home-based PASDS and residential PASDS.

The program addresses the parent or carers’ capacity and includes an intensive development component to further develop their skills, knowledge, and capacity.

The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence, SECASA is a community-based Monash Health
program that is covered by the new regulatory scheme.
SECASA is a specialist sexual assault and family violence service, which provides:

  • Time-limited therapeutic interventions and counselling following sexual assault and/or family violence, to victim/survivors and
    other affected family members.
  • 24/7 sexual assault crisis response for people who have been sexually assaulted in the past two weeks or disclosed past
    sexual assault for the first time.
  • Assessment and intervention for children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours, and their families
  • Community education and prevention work, including programs in early learning, primary and secondary schools
