The Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local is a free service that provides specialised support for children aged up to 12 years who are experiencing developmental, emotional and behavioural challenges. It provides a central hub for families in south-east Melbourne to access a range of health and wellbeing services.
The Children’s Local is a purpose built space locates within Monash Health’s Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre with additional services in Narre Warren and Noble Park.
Services offered include:
- Specialist consultations support and advice from pediatricians, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and more.
- Parent, family and carer support assistance to help build skills and confidence in supporting your child’s development and unique needs.
- Connection to services connecting you to services and support within the community.
They also offer free secondary consults for clinicians managing complex developmental, behavioural or mental health issues in children aged up to 12 years from Cardinia, Casey and Greater Dandenong local government areas.
The service is free, you do not need Australian residency or a Medicare card to access the service.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals support Victorians aged 26 years and over to get mental health and wellbeing treatment, care and support closer to home. All support is free, voluntary and easy to access, and you do not need a referral from your doctor to access help.
Mind is the lead provider of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local in Dandenong (servicing Greater Dandenong), which will be delivered in partnership with Foundation House, Monash Health and Thorne Harbour Health.

The South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence, SECASA is a community-based Monash Health
program that is covered by the new regulatory scheme.
SECASA is a specialist sexual assault and family violence service, which provides:
- Time-limited therapeutic interventions and counselling following sexual assault and/or family violence, to victim/survivors and
other affected family members. - 24/7 sexual assault crisis response for people who have been sexually assaulted in the past two weeks or disclosed past
sexual assault for the first time. - Assessment and intervention for children and young people with harmful sexual behaviours, and their families
