BetStop – the National Self-Exclusion Register is a free service that allows you to self-exclude from all licensed Australian online and phone wagering providers in a single process.

You may self-exclude for a period you choose, from a minimum of three months up to a lifetime.

While you are registered, wagering providers must not:

  • open a wagering account for you
  • allow you to place bets, or
  • send you marketing material.

Providers must also close any existing accounts and refund any credit balance you have.

Before you start, you’ll need:

  • your mobile phone
  • access to your email inbox
  • a Medicare card, an Australian passport, or a driver’s licence from an Australian State or Territory so that we can verify your identity.

To protect your privacy, we advise that you do not use a public computer (for example, at a library) to register.
