Rainbow Recovery is an LGBTQI+ specific alcohol and other drug (AOD) program delivered by Thorne Harbour Health, in partnership with Windana, across the SEMPHN catchment. The program provides culturally safe, affirmative care tailored to the unique ds of LGBTQ+ clients, with integrated support across counselling, case management, and referrals to broader health and social services.
Who is eligible?
LGBTQI+ people seeing alcohol and other drug support who may also require assistance with co-occurring mental health or psychosocial needs.

SECADA is a single point of contact for a large network of specialist services which support youth and adults with a range of alcohol and drug concerns. This includes people who may be experiencing mental health problems, family and social disconnect, or have been involved with the courts or police. SECADA also provides support to their families, friends and carers.
The purpose of SECADA is to:
- Reduce the harm associated with alcohol and other drug use.
- Improve physical and mental health.
- Reconnect people to their loved ones and their community.

| Services/Programs | Intake and Assessment: SECADA’s intake process involves a 30-40 minute initial questionnaire to understand your needs regarding alcohol and other drug use. Following this, a 1.5-hour in-person assessment will be scheduled to explore suitable support options. Feel free to bring a support person, and interpreters are available.
Alcohol and Drug Counselling services: cater to adults and young people. Referrals can be made through SECADA’s intake service, with priority for those with complex needs or transitioning to/from residential services. Counselling methods include face-to-face and telephone consultations. Care and Recovery Coordination: Treatment stream offering coordinated, longer-term care for those identified with complex intervention needs. It involves setting recovery goals and planning care for up to 12 months post-treatment. Non-residential withdrawal services: This includes clinical withdrawal assessment and treatment at home or treatment services. It’s suitable for low-risk individuals with stable housing and support. Wayfinder: a new support program in southeast Melbourne, providing group and one-on-one support for recovery from alcohol and other drugs facing low to medium complexities. |

SURe provides therapeutic recovery-oriented services assisting individuals and their families affected by substance use.
We work with individuals aged 16 and over and operate under the framework of harm minimisation, social model of health and wellbeing.
SURe is funded by the Department of Health & Human Services, servicing the South East, Inner East and Outer East of Melbourne.

The Know shares drug alerts issued from all states and territories in Australia to build public awareness of emerging drugs of concern and support people who use drugs and communities to reduce the risk of harm. You can sign up for alerts using email or text.
The women’s alcohol and drug service (WADS) is a statewide service providing specialist clinical services to pregnant women with complex substance use dependence.
WADS has a multidisciplinary approach to maximise the health and wellbeing of pregnant women and their infants. they provide:
- Pregnancy and medical care
- Drug and alcohol care, counselling and support to pregnant women with complex substance use and dependence
- Assessment, and the care of infants exposed to drugs and alcohol during pregnancy (through the First Thousand Days Clinic)
- Statewide secondary consultations service for health practitioners. This includes a 24 hour on call addiction/obstetric service
- Training for practitioners in primary health, the community sector and hospitals on the management and care of women using drugs and alcohol during the perinatal period, and their infants.

First Thousand Days Clinic
A program focusing on the critical period from conception to a child’s second birthday. It emphasises the impact that nutrition, healthcare, housing stability, bonding and attachment, community linkage, and poverty have on the development of an infant.

Catalyst is a program that helps people make and maintain changes to substance use.
The program is a 6 week program, it is free and runs Monday- Friday 10:00 am- 3:00 pm
Anyone with a goal to stop or take a break from substance use and looking for the support of a group program. Participants will need to complete a withdrawal phase before attending the program.
