If you’re a full fare customer travelling on the myki-enabled network, you can now use tap and go across trains, trams and buses!

Or keep using myki if you prefer.

How to use tap and go:

  • Full fare customers only (concession card holders should continue using myki)
  • Mastercard or Visa
  • Tap on with your credit or debit card, phone or smart watch, and be sure to tap off the same way
  • Make sure you have enough money for your journey before you tap
  • Take your card out of your wallet before you tap
  • View your contactless travel history

Fares

Tap and go fares are the same as myki fares. Depending on your card provider and bank, it may take up to three days for payment to appear in your bank account. You may see a pending amount before your daily fare is calculated and confirmed.

Public transport in Victoria is half price until 1 January 2027. This includes concession holders.

To access half price fares simply tap on as usual. For more information visit transport.vic.gov.au/halfpricetravel

Authorised Officers

Authorised Officers are there to support customers as we roll out tap and go across the myki network. Don’t worry if you make a mistake, we’re here to help.

When checking contactless payments, they won’t see your banking details or any personal information.
